Mythic Dreams OOC [Supernatural/Jail/Modern Fantasy]
« on: August 19, 2011, 07:26:47 PM »

Stalart, Nebraska.
Stalart Maximum Security Penitentiary.
April 23rd, 2012.

You've been bad. Very, very bad. After being caught by the police during one of your crime sprees--- be it theft, murder, or rape, you were booked, sentenced, and shipped off to Stalart Penitentiary, a maximum security jail just outside an otherwise small and peaceful Nebraska farming town. It doesn't matter what you did, whether you enjoyed it, whether you're sorry for what you've done, or whether you were framed. You're here now and you're here to stay for many years. The guards at Salart take their job very seriously. With all of their devices, drugs, and sealed rooms, the chance of escape is a thousand to one. Not bad, but not good enough either.

There is a day room, a break/cafeteria room, and a "thought room" (for group counseling purposes), the only places where the girls and guys can come together in co-ed harmony. Otherwise, males and females are separated into individual wings to prevent anything from...happening.

Fuller maps of both the first and second story are here:
Spoiler for "Ground Level:

Spoiler for "Level Two":

The living cells are separated by security priority--- low, medium, and high security inmates. The low security inmates are treated to more comfortable rooms and looser schedules, while medium security inmates are sealed up tighter and have a rigorous schedule. High security inmates are treated as though on lock-down, individuals have their own guards to follow and watch them and their own slab of a room. Because these kind are dangerous and are usually separated from others, they don't really have much of a schedule and spend a lot of time alone in their cells.

They told you all of this as you went through Triage to be entered into the jail, of course.

What they didn't tell you about was the lore and mystery surrounding the jail's most notorious inmate--- Roxy.

Roxy is a high security, high priority female inmate whom some call "The Genie." They say she can make things happen with her mind. Strange things.  Incredible things that you try to explain away but yet manage to leave you haunted for years. They say that, if she accepts you as a friend, she will grant you one wish--- name your desire and she will make it happen.

...they also say that, if she doesn't like you, or if you refuse to be her friend, she will come into your dreams, and haunt you into submission.

Her wishes have rules, however. You can't wish for your freedom from jail, you can't wish to kill or harm more than one person, and you can't wish for any impossible powers. She says that she reserves these powers for herself. But you want someone killed? Done. You want your enemy to make a fool of himself in front of your friends? Done. You want a good meal for once? Done. You want to have some alone time with your special girl away from the eyes of the guards? Consider it granted.

No-one knows whether she is truly an all-powerful genie, whether she simply has a few special powers that she uses to make your wishes come true, or whether she is taking credit for something that is not really happening. All they know is that every wish that has been asked of her has been granted, and that she has a bizarre history, personality, and presence that is hard to stomach.

You enter your cell for the first time on an April day, one among several  new inmates. The guards lock the door behind you and tell you that dinner will be in twenty minutes. You dress in your uniform--- a horrible orange jumpsuit. Soon, you discover that someone has left you a note on your bed. Someone that should not, in the realm of possibility, have been able to enter your room. You take the note, notice that it has a few wet spots and smears on it. You then read it.

Someone has threatened you on your first day in jail.  Her name is Roxy, and they call her the Genie.

Enter your character's information into the sheet below and wait to be accepted.

Picture: (if any)

Name:
Gender:
Age:
Species:

Height:
Weight:
Appearance: (optional if you already have a pic)

Personality:
Past Crimes:

Brief History: (Be brief. You can reveal more of your char's backstory in the RP.)

And here are our rules.

1) Be nice and friendly. I want no-one with grudges or RP hostility. An RP is just an RP, treat it as such and enter this RP fresh. It is a game to have fun and use your imagination, not something to run your life or start arguments. Imagine someone fighting intensely with another person because the other person wasn't playing Mario Party to his/her liking, then throwing the controller down and storming off in a huff. It looks just as silly when someone does so in an RP. If you don't like something, or if you feel someone isn't doing a good job, say so, but say so politely and we will discuss it like adults, not like ten year olds.

2) MUST post once every two days. More is smiled upon.

3) Do NOT leave anyone behind or go off on random tangents unless it is a plot healthy plan that you discuss with me.

4) DON'T speed post, UNLESS it is something like a conversation between two characters that:
a) doesn't immediately affect anyone else
and b) doesn't leave anyone nearby out

5) No god-modding or powerplaying. If you want to hurt another character, then at least make it as realistic as possible. On the same note, if someone is trying to hurt or hamper your character you can't just get off scott free easily.

NOT Acceptable: He swirled out of the guards' arms, and landed a kick in the right one's neck that made him drop cold dead. The other guard's eyes widened in fear of the ultimate bad***.

Acceptable: He swirled to get out of the guards' hands and succeeded, but they quickly went to grab at him again and left scratch marks down his arms. He snarled angrily and decided he would have to kill them to get away. His eyes scanned over the nightstick in the right guard's belt and he planted a kick in that guard's neck, which would hopefully incapacitate him long enough he could grab the weapon and brain him.

NOT Acceptable: The lithe girl quickly dodged the punches and rolled out of harm's way. "Piece of cake," she said.

Acceptable: The lithe girl dodged the punches, but she felt them graze her body and one hit her square in the shoulder. She wanted to cry out in pain but was too brave and also knew she needed to get out of the way, so she rolled across the floor, which should have been far enough away from the bully to plot her exit. "Piece of cake," she huffed, out of breath.

6) GM IS GOD. I will control the basic flow of plot and how Roxy interacts with you, clearly, but what ultimately happens is up to how you guys play the game.

LIST OF CHARACTERS

Image: (minus halo, glasses, and outfit) http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3210853/

Name: Roxy Columbine (not real name)
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Species: White Skunk

Height: 6'1"
Weight: 159 pounds
Build: Stocky yet curvy, strong and soft.

Personality: Quiet and dreamy most of the time, but when she must speak with others she is very rude and very blunt. Some call her mean names, but others say she is a very nice, interesting, and creative loner. She prefers being by herself and has a love of creativity. Roxy has a preference for male clients...other female inmates claim she secretly lusts for romance in her life and has told them of a sort of "Bonnie and Clyde" fantasy. Naturally, Roxy killed the girls who let this deep secret of hers slip out.
Past Crimes: Disclosed mass murder and theft.

Brief History: They say that Roxy must be an alien--- she is so powerful, they think she must be able to walk right out of the jail whenever she wants. Roxy doesn't deny this, but she says that the reason she's in jail is because she's hiding from someone. Someone she calls "The Demon." She says he'll get her if she leaves, and that he's responsible for how she turned out in life.

Inmates call her the "Genie," since Roxy decided to use her strange abilities to start granting her fellow jailbirds a single wish shortly after she came in three years ago. The catch is that they have to be her friend afterward and do what she asks of them. Those that refuse are tormented in their dreams night after night.

Her closest friends know that she dreams of romance, as though such a thing could come to a cruel woman like her, and they also know that one day soon she plans on a breakout...which is why they stay so close. But no-one knows about her history in detail. What is known leaves holes to be filled. Some of the more interesting details are things the guards and counselors claim come from a psychotic mind, that they aren't true.

Supposedly, she came from a small village south of Stalart. Her mother left when she was young and her father was a farmer. She was an only child who loved drawing, writing, FFA, and riding horses in 4-H. She had no friends and was always very lonely. Then something happened in her early teens. Something...inexplicable. A man came. He wanted her for himself. She refused. Something happened...again. She ran away from home. Things happened, then she discovered her powers. Something very, very horrible happened, and she unwittingly used these powers to kill a lot of people. She was found shaking and crying at the scene of the crime.

Whether this story is total bull or not is a matter of debate. But if you ask her to grant you a wish, you may start to believe...
