climbing the grandstand was easy, as well as finding a place to sit at the top. the hard part- not being recongnized.
in the early 2100's humanity started to create and experament with creating new types of centiant life. some were short lived. others worked, purhaps to well. the life expectancy of the new creations were four times that of a normal human being. for fear of retaliation or wide spread panic coused by these new life forms governments around the world decided to place them in internment camps. inside the internment camps the political stress to maintain unity grew dencer and dencer till it finaly broke. different clans were formed, walls put up to seperate them, and the creation of a black market. one one side of the fence the living conditions were to par with regular people. on the other side though, they lived in the mud. fighting for the scraps of food, killing each other for survival. on both sides times were hard, as well as living. so the pilgrimage was comitioned. at a certain age a group of three from each generation would be scent to find somthing of intrest or value on the black market. if they returned succesful then they could stay amungst the clan. if not they were disowned.
"kagami, dont you think that we should be in hiding?"
the small soma asked trying to hide her tail and pink hair. the cold air nipped at the nose on the end of thier dog like face. thier heads covered with hoods, tails neatly tucked into thier clothing, pink hair genly pulled back so no one could see.
"this is the best way to learn of thier culture and how to interact with them. you should know that by now."
"kagami is right, it is the best way. not the...most secure or ideal but it will have to work, azumi."
"i know that shazad..i am not cumfortable with the fact that we are in public. and what brutality!! i am out raged that they willingly hold rivalry against each other for a game! what is this, foot ball? what does this have to do with a ball or the foot?"
"azumi! calm down ok. come with me and shazad we are going to the consetion stand for something to drink."
"ok...dont be angry with me i do not question your leader ship but your tactics and impliments of information gathering are at the least questionalble, kagami."
"to some."
"ok, you two stop."
the three recieved many acward glances on the way down. some more suspitous than others. the crowd was suddenly distracted by the touch down that was scored. the one side of the stadium staning up cheering and yelling in the name of the team.
the three arived at the consetion stand. the line was long so a wait was obvious to all three of them. what was not was the encounter with the drunk. the man came wadling and stumbling tward the three.
"i..i...i dont...dont like you." he stammered.
"yes and we dont like you eather so whats your point." kagami snapped back.
"noo..n....n.n...no i kno.....w...wha...what you..you..t..t..three are."
the look of terror came to azumi's eyes. with out thinking she instinctively grabbed for the gun straped to her leg.
again with out thinking she pulled the trigger twice, sending two slugs into the head of the drunk. all of this happed wihting four seconds faster than any one could react.
"damn it azumi!! shazad we've been compromised!"
the croud scattered screaming. all three knew the next step would be the security guards. soon they would be all over them. the three ran for the side of the building using the drain pipe, scaling the buildings. ontop of the roof shazad stoped to put his hood back down. looking off the roof he saw a young boy, at least old enough to talk, looking at him.
"azumi, gun."
she silently handed him the fourty five. one, two, three shots rang threwout the stadium. the boy fell quietly to his knees. blood leaking from his brian case. the mother stood panickingly over the body.
"we must move you two!" kagami screamed.
