Scarlet Mane's Diary is a story of a unicorn that doesn't know any magic and still is a blank flank (no cutie mark, a symbol of intrinsic talent). She decided to go on a quest to find her cutie mark, but one fateful morning woke up with a strange feeling that she forgot something very important.

As Scarlet Mane wonders why she ended up in Maretown, she attempts to fit in by trying to help in party preparations with devastating results.

Scarlet Mane's Diary, Entry 3: The Big Blast of Boom
Some ponies are late for the ferry to the glorious pegasi city of Coltisle to see Blasting Boom's show. Moonbeam thinks of a solution and they all fly high.
