I don't know about rebuilding the whole world completely, but I do wish the US could build a high speed rail system across the country. And a lot of buildings and such could be a lot more efficient about water or energy usage, if you had unlimited amounts of money to put into that kind of thing.

To start simply, currency would not exist. That alone would change so much. We have technology that can produce massive amounts of energy without combustion or radioactive substances, but the richest families keep it from the public eye, sadly.

There would have to be a good, working substitute for currency if it didn't exist. Without some sort of currency (be it money or whatever) it's harder to put a monetary value on something, even impossible. So... I don't know if removing the economy would make the world a better place.

And Zeph... if they can put a high speed rail across the US, I think they should put one across the pacific ocean, too! :3

I think the first thing that comes to mind, is getting rid of all the useless, abandoned buildings, and rebuilding/refurbishing them, then giving them a new purpose. It disgusts me when I drive into Troy and see a massive building unused, yet completely workable, and then right down the street a similar building being built for a new hotel =V

And also, if you do it right you could get rid of currency, but you'd have to totally rewrite just how we think about obtaining materials. In this day and age, a lot of people want the "biggest and best" think you can get. So if you made everything accessible for free, then everyone like that would have *the* biggest TV's and computers and houses, etc. People would have to overcome that and learn to really limit themselves. And a lot of people just wouldn't be able to do that. Perhaps in that society, I wouldn't be able to have my 42" TV. As much as I know I don't *need* it, I also do really enjoy having it, since it provides as much use as it does.
But how to make that sort of society work is really spinning off topic ><

Rebuild the world, eh?
Although improving the efficiency of a Nation like the US seems nice...
I'd focus on building the infrastructure of the African continent via a highway and rail network, subsidise local crop production, get them producing something that can go to the factories and provide more work, importing staples such as grain from major producers like the US and China. I'd also revatalise the local militaries, specifically by offering improved training, simple IR/NV systems and a light reconaisance air force, to help quell the local tiffs.

After that I'd move on the the South American continent, and then set about the middle east in a similar fashion. At the end of it all I'd of course take a leaf from Zeph's book and work on the "advanced" nations. First order of business: Finish the worlds first truly international highway/rail network and pump energy back into technology. Specifically biomedical fields and work in nuclear fusion.

Just the ideas off the top of my head.

The way I would rebuild this world is actually very plausible but very difficult.

In order to fix the world a genuinely good person would have to attain a MASSIVE amount of money. They would need to be the richest person on the planet. After obtaining this amount of money what they could do is buy out all other corporations and economical machines, and change the workings of them to something much less corrupt. After buying all these, they would still be making such a huge amount of money that any other existing corrupt corporations could easily be bought out and taken care of after this they could move on to any other issues going on. Starting with better energy systems along with transportation around the world..etc, etc.

This is how I would rebuild the world.
