Never heard of a "Dhole" furry before
« on: January 07, 2013, 02:14:49 AM »
Most furs choose the obvious choice as their fursona: things like foxes, wolves, dogs, cats, etc. Some others choose more obscure animals like bears, birds, dragons, I could go on.

So when I found my fursona self to be a dhole, I couldn't believe that there were hardly any who were also dholes as well. Most people have never even heard of a dhole before, but it's really not far off from a fox.

For the super lazy, this is a dhole.

Is it just an unpopular animal, or do people not relate to dholes as I do? Just a trivial question...

One of my other personal characters was almost a dhole. She ended up being a jackal instead though because I thought it suited her personality better. Dholes aren't very well-known animals though as far as I know, so I'm not surprised that they aren't often chosen as fursonas.

Interesting, I think the fact that they aren't really found outside certain parts of Asia could explain that they aren't so well-known.

Personally my fursona is a fox, at the risk of sounding Mary-sue... I just really like foxes and in some ways it's just reflective on my own personality.

Never heard of them before to be perfectly honest. They don't even have a proper name in Norwegian. Just "Asian Wild Dog".

That is a very pretty creature! I've never heard of them, but I may have seen a picture somewhere. I'm usually more likely to remember pictures than names.

Not many have heard of voles, from my experience. They're pretty much a cross between a mole and a mouse.
