Help with partial fursuit/hoodie idea?

So yes, I'm a guy who has sewn before... but like seven years ago and I made a pillow.  BUT.  I'm a guy who is also scared sh'tless of sewing machines because I'm afraid of screwing up xD.  But anyway, my friend gave me this idea to make a partial fursuit by using a hoodie as the base-- lighter and more comfortable to wear than a fursuit though not necessarily as beautiful when it comes down to it.  I was wondering how I'd be able to make the fur (mainly the tufts on his head and multiple-colored ears).


  The tail I was thinking of just making it out of faux fur ordered from online, fur on his head included.  I was thinking because there are no real soft yellow or cream colored clothing articles in existence, I'd change his color to a very soft shade of grey. 


I have red wrist warmers for his paws, but I'm also wondering how I'd make shoes or boots or whatever the matching color.  (lots of questions, I know )  The small circle by his eyes I could put somewhere on the hood or something and all that.


Main question(s), though:


-How to make the fur on his head/tail
-/What/ to make the fur out of
-Multiple-colored ears and how to make those
-Shoes/boots to match the color of his paws


I think that's about it, if someone could please help me, that would be great!

This place can help with the footpaws problem.

As for the handpaws, that same site should give you some ideas.

You'll probably need foam. It specifies on the site what foam.

@OriontheFox: See, the other problem is that I'm short on money and I'm not sure if I wanna go with the footpaws right now per se.  Would they look good without the "whole suit", as it were?  Cause I'm also looking at the partial idea with some aesthetics in mind, what looks good and doesn't with or without certain pieces.

No problem! The best fursuit is a good fursuit, so it's better to pool your money and buy one you'll use for a while, than buy a cheap one that you get rid of in a few months. Unless it's for a convention, buy a better one.
