Anyone want to play some SNES games?
« on: February 03, 2015, 11:11:46 AM »
Hey there! Prepare yourself for some reading...

So, the other day I stumbled across a NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) vs. SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) poll in the Random Board and it reminded me of how much I enjoy the SNES. As much as I'd love to own the actual console, I've had to make do with an emulator. The nice thing about emulation is the Internet connection option, which allows people from across the globe to play SNES games together. This got me wondering if any of you lovely furries would like to do this with me (and possibly a small group, depending on how many of you show an interest in this).

If this sounds interesting to you, I'll send you a zip folder with everything you'll need (emulator, Hamachi installer, games, Notepad file with the server information) via Skype or download link. All you have to do is unzip the folder and voila, you're ready to go! The SNES has a lot of multiplayer games, ranging from 2-4 players, as well as a ton of single-player games. I've included a variety of both single-player and multiplayer games in the zip folder, but if there's a game you want to play (both single-player or multiplayer) that isn't in there, let me know and I can send the game file to you.

One way (probably the easiest) to set this whole thing up would be to start a Skype call, and then connect our SNES emulators so we would be able to talk while playing. Another way would be to type in either a Skype chat or Hamachi chat and coordinate things there. TeamSpeak could also be an option. (I don't have my Skype publicly displayed anywhere, so send me a message if you want it and I'll give it to you.)

I haven't set up a Hamachi server yet - I was thinking I could do that with anyone who feels up to this. That way they could pick a server name and server password that they like.

If all of this seems rather confusing to you, don't worry! It's a lot simpler than it seems and I'll help you get set up with everything. All you need is the will to play some Super Nintendo games and have some fun with your fellow furries! If you have any questions, feel free to ask in this thread or send me a message and I'll get back to you ASAP.
I look forward to playing the Super Nintendo with you guys!  :D
