Feeling Unwelcome

Hey, I'm new to the furry scene(~a week)and while I love the whole idea of the comraderie and whatnot, I can't help but feel...a tad out of place. I wanted to join a community of people that shared interests because I have no friends and my life was/still is shit(years of verbal/physical abuse, no self esteem, being bullied for one thing after another, general shit like that). I've only spent a day on this particular forum so I have nothing to complain about, but in other chatrooms/forum sites it seems to be really elitist and mean. "You're not like us? You're not part of our little clique, then get out!" That shit is exactly what I was trying to escape from but apparently to no avail. Also the oversexualization. I'm a teenager so of course I like sexy stuff and I'd want to have a girlfriend(sadly both to no avail), but does every single thing have to be sexual?  Just because I'm not "19/F/Horny" doesn't mean I'm a terrible person. I'm not trying to ask anybody to pity me. I don't need pity. I need friends and I need an accepting community.

Youre not gonna find jerks here, when i got on here i was really new to the furry scene so i was nervous but i stared posting and talking with the other furs and figured out everyone on here is super cool. If you need to talk my message box is always open.

no one here is unwanted (unless your a troll then you go bye bye and its also my fav job on twitch) but here it takes time im normaly always on and im here when theres no one listed even tho it says no one online im no bet here with the tab open and looking at something else but i do refresh the page after a bit to check for topics or other stuff but here its welcoming just find a board you like i happen to be in nearly every one of them somewhere and trust me its fun aswell ive posted in each board but my most posted has to be the fun rp section so find somewhere you like and start posting there it takes time to meet new friends but youll get there

EDIT: i should add when im not here im normaly hovering around some pc sites trying to justify to myself that my new pc will be worth it or sleeping or playing games or like right now watching a 7 hr 14 minute livestream because thats what normal furs do right

It's really nice here. There aren't any cliques or 'special groups'.
The Furry Cafe is Peaceful.... 85% of the time. sometimes a scripted argument and a staged fight but it's usually peaceful, friendly, and "Lovely".
You can seriously talk to some of us if you wish.

'Like almost any fandom, there's going to be parts that are oversexualized, the trick is finding the parts that are "friends and family", so to speak. It took me a while to find a couple circles where I really fit in, I think the trick is not trying too hard to become best friends with people right away. Take it slow, be nice to people, they'll usually be nice back.

Hey there, TheWhiteRabbit, I can understand why you indeed might feel like so, and it surely doesn't help when you get treated in such a manner, especially when you just joined the fandom, expecting it to be an open community from people who are also 'out of place' in some way.However, please give this forum a try. It was my first path into the furry fandom myself, and I ahve tried out various other fora/forums, but none were as welcoming and warming as this place. I still have friends here, can have nice (and random) conversations with new people, and share my own experiences with others. Most, if not all, are very kind people here. People here are different, and individuals, and they know it. I;ve noticed no judgement, and if there would be, it wouldn't be meant in a harmful way. One might simply not realise they might sound judgemental. Whatever happens, I haven't noticed anytrhing getting out of hand or the like.I hope this will somehow ease your mind a bit, and please, message me if you would like to talk or just have some questions, I won't bite
