So, how bout that Hatred?

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Hatred, it is a game, got released a couple days ago. It's starring the edgiest Protagonist/Antagonist ever written. He has no name, only one goal. To cleanse the earth of all humans... ya just go around murdering civilians, the cops show up, ya kill cops: rinse and repeat. But wait, there's more! To regain health, you perform executions on downed victims. Screw it, it's literally just another twin stick shooter. It's like GTA, ManHunt, and Postal had a three-way, and Hatred is their child. This game got a bunch of controversy upon the release of its trailer, because of all the violence. Some say that this is game's developers have gone too far with all the violence, and blah blah morals blah. So, what do y'all think? Has this game gone too far and shouldn't exist? I personally think everyone needs to not be so quick to get their panties in a bunch.

It has a right to exist, saying otherwise violates freedom of speech
That means we should not ban it, but stores could choose not to sell it, and consumers can choose not to buy it.

I personally would never play it, as I feel it is too dark and feels too cruel to be a game I would enjoy.

Considering you could just as easily go on a mindless rampage in games like GTA or any open-world urban shooter, I don't really see this particular game as worth all the controversy it has sparked.

Yea, I feel all the "controversy" surrounding it is just gonna make it more popular than it really deserves to be. This is no different than when games like Postal or Manhunt came out. Careful, though, ya don't wanna trip on all that edge.

I think there IS a diffrence between a game where you CAN do that, and a game where the entire objective is that.

It's being said that it's a game that shouldn't ever be played.
Not because of the subject matter, but because it's controls are broken and the gameplay is incredibly repetitive.
If you want to go on a mindless rampage, then just start up your favourite copy of GTA or Saints Row and see how long you can go before you get bored.

I dunno, gotta love that edgy McEdgerson. Seriously, though, if ya wanna have a laugh at some cringe worthy dialogue, this game's got it... in abundance. It's hilarious how angsty the main character is, it almost feels like a bunch of classic angsty American teenagers designed it xD

I just want to say a warning, discussion is fine but please do not post gameplay and stuff, as the game is very controversial and considered more adult-oriented due to it's violence.

That said, I actually think the game isn't that violent personally. Mortal Kombat X is much more violent, and the whole killing thing was done in GTA years ago. This whole game is purely getting sold because it's trying to get this "I'm too edgy" image, they're fueled by publicity and I honestly think it's boring.

My guess is the game is boring, that it's not actually that fun but people will get it anyway cause people like getting the "forbidden" game.

This exactly. The game is over-hyped because it's "sick" or whatever, but all in all it's a terribly-made game that doesn't really deserve attention.
