What's wrong?
« on: August 15, 2015, 12:24:43 AM »
I will be laying down and get up light headed. Although it's getting worse. yesterday I got up from my bed since I was just resting while listening to music and once I stood my I was extremely light headed and my eyesight grew blurry and I had to lean against the bed to keep myself balanced. I also have a vitamin deficiency, which I have to take these vitamin pills for, these other pills for my bones since I have bone cyst in my legs, along the fish oil pills, one each day since the doctor had given them to my mother for me. Now I've taken blood test before which found my vitamin deficiency, and X-Rays for my legs finding bone cyst... But what's the light headed thing from along with headaches?? I get them way to much... I want to know what's wrong. I'm getting a CAT scan soon but is anyone having this problem, is it the medicines? Or something that I'm doing that's causing this. To be honest I'm a bit scared about having these I'm the only one in my household and I keep asking why me, and I fear if it's going to be something really bad. I don't want to have these problems my whole life either.

Try not to worry so much, maybe you are dehydrated. Try drinking water or some orange juice, I hope you feel better Zaida!

Its more than likely dehydration.  I dont know if you drink alot of sodas but if you do they dehydrate you. If its warm out you need water lots of it. It could be the med interacting with each other but I doubt it. It would however be something to bring up with your pharmacist.  Remember the doctor knows very little about the meds themselves he just knows what to prescribe. The pharmacist knows how the meds will interact and usually notice when an idiot doctor prescribes to meds that dont go together but they can miss it too. My recommendation is to take all your meds in and have the pharmacist look them over but I really doubt thats the problem

I usually see these symptoms when it involves problems with blood pressure. The body's arterioles are supposed to constrict and the heart is supposed to increase it's cardiac output in order to prevent a sudden loss of pressure to the head when one stands up. So your vitamin/electrolyte deficiency might me interfering with the smooth muscle of your arterioles to contract, thus they remain vasodialated. Leading to a loss of pressure and oxygenation, and your symptoms.

Unless the vitamins you are taking are prescribed, chances are, they're not true to their labeled percentages on the bottle. They don't have to undergo FDA testing and thus they have large margins of error. Look up the quality controls they're using to ensure you're receiving a pure and true product.

The second most common problem deals with the inner ear, but there's specific tests a neurologist can do to evaluate that.

Talk to your doctor and ask about the vitamins as well as a standing vs. laying blood pressure test.

... and hey Kalan, just cause some physicians failed to study enough physio and pharm, doesnt mean all physicians are the same way. I havent been busting my butt to fail my patients like that! lol.

I am in agreement that it is either dehydration or blood pressure. I used to suffer from lightheadedness frequently as a kid. I have pretty low blood pressure naturally and low blood sugar kicks that into overdrive. Maybe have a snack every so often, and at the very least try to get a decent breakfast each day.

Do let us know if you get better.
