Hypocrites make me gag

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this but me, but it's regarding the IMVU-made music videos IMVU has been promoting lately. (You can find the promotion at this link if you haven't.)

I'm sure all the IMVU users have noticed the new TOS changes, and most likely have been having anywhere from a few to multiple things from their inventory being removed for being AP only. Yes, IMVU's been giving refunds, so I've been putting up with it, even if some of the things they mark AP only are just going overboard... I've kept my mouth shut. But nothing made my fur stand on end more than when I watched the videos IMVU's been showing off lately, simply because, after all this yapping about "mature" products not being seen by the eyes of minors, the first few videos are chock full of mature content!

Proving my point, I'll be referring to the worst one, the video in the top middle of the video list at the bottom. Find it here.

This video alone shows mature content including foul language, a pole dancer furniture item that's restricted, very... "lovey-dovey" poses that IMVU has shunned, wine glasses, belly dancing actions that were restriced, AND (gotta love this one) a scene at the end showing a girl being shot to death - when IMVU has marked guns with "implied self-harm" actions AP only. Apparently, IMVU thinks that the little flash of the "Parental Advisory" notice is enough to keep the millions of IMVU users, young and old, from seeing something they shouldn't.

I'm sure I can't be the only one who's furious over this. If IMVU wants to take away my items, they should at least keep their ideals when they're decided what they want to promote to everyone in the IMVU community. I wanted to bring this up in the IMVU forums (if it isn't already, I don't look through the forums there much), but I have to admit IMVU makes me fear the very real possibility of being deleted. How terribly sad.

...I generally prefer to keep my language clean, but if I could swear on this forum, this post would be full of it.  >


Edit: It's probably a good idea for me to note that this may have belonged in the APO board, but seeing as how I have no access to that and IMVU thinks this subject is good enough for the public, I've posted here. If I'm wrong in my decision, feel free to delete this as you wish, Mods.

I couldn't agree with you more. The AP thing has gotten way out of hand, and they're skipping out on allot of things. They strictly enforce one thing but not another. Though im sure its just a thing to keep the IMVU videos going, nobody would watch them if they were some Coldplay song with guys in suits just standing there. -shrugs-
