I've only ever had one or two friends who have done that for me. Life can be tough and harsh when you live with a family that doesn't understand you, who have never seen the hardships you were forced to endure and refuse to acknowledge the truth of it, and who only ever see you as a tool, a resource, and a volatile brute to be exploited.
