Greek gods always seem to have the best names, like Hades, Helios and so forth.

Egyption gods also have pretty cool names like Set, Anubis and Apep

I too am interested in the gods associated with death, especially those known as psychopomps (or soul guides or escorts to the afterlife).

Anubis, the jackal-headed god, guided souls to the Hall of Judgment
Hel wasn't a psychopomp, but her half face made the gods uncomfortable, so Odin assigned her the realm of the dead, who weren't made uncomfortable by her condition

The Roman and the Egyptian pantheons were always interesting to me. I don't recall many details anymore though, it's been a long time since I've read up on them.
