Yeah, really. Art is art. People make art because it's fun or it's enjoyable, not because they expect profit from it. I, for one, am not the drawing or painting type. I am a musician. I write numerous songs with my band, we play shows, and record but we never sell. We might occasionally make some $$$ from the concerts but that's not the point. We create music because it helps us reflect our feelings or passion into something we are able to share with other people. Why I enjoy doing it, I will never know. It is a time consuming, frustrating, and costly task to write and preform but I still do it because I enjoy it despite the financial barriers. We REALLY like the fan base we create because it shows that we are headed somewhere in the right direction, money or not. I don't think I can make a living off of writing and preforming Death Metal and Metalcore but I'm almost 17...and what else is there to do for a kid like me?
