I don't usually report small outages (as they very rarely occur) but this time the Office of the Data Centre put out a notice afterwards in regards to the downtime, as I personally like to report to all users, I have quoted it below.
This afternoon at 14.17 GMT one of our two aggregate switches in Global Switch 2 crashed. It took just under three minutes for the network to route around the dead switch and full service was restored at 14.20 GMT.
During that period all connectivity was lost to approximately half the services in that data centre.
We are now investigating the cause of the crash.
Our apologies for any inconvenience this outage caused.
