Good Idea, Bad Idea?

I love TFF and, don't get me wrong, am perfectly content with it. But I'd also like to meet some furs in real life, who I can talk to and hang out with in person.

So , I'm seriously thinking about posting fliers around my school (on the community boards) that say "Got Fur?" and a few little lines about meeting other furs at the university. I gave an email on the flier, and then in little tiny print on the bottom I wrote "Serious emails only. Harassment will not be tolerated."

My question is, would posting them be a good idea?

Well I think it's a pretty good idea.  I mean, it's a given that you might hear some people talk about it wrongly but you really can't escape everybody like that.  Still I would probably do it.

If you do go through with it, it might be a good idea to make a new email address just for that purpose. Make sure the message on the flyer is clear so people know what you're looking for. As Philly said, it's quite likely you'll get at least a couple harrassment emails. Remember people may lie about being "serious", or who they are entirely. Just be prepared for whatever may happen, and stay safe. I hope you know it's not a good idea to meet anyone new by yourself; try bringing along someone else you already know, meeting in a public place, etc. Good luck with it if you do post the flyers. I'm sure it would be fun if things all work out for the best. :)

Yeah, all of your suggestions sound good. =) I did get a new email for it. ^-^ Definitely we'll be meeting at one of the on-campus dining halls, it'll be completely public. Thanks for your encouragement!! =D

I guess you could start there, but (Well, since I'm still a bit shy) I would have a second e-mail lie WZ said and go to a furry networking site. You can probally find a good number of local furs at furry4life.com, but remember to stay safe, go with a buddy, and meet in a public place. :)

(Looks again) Oh... You already did something... (Shrugs)
