Introducing Alex

Shelter photo I saw of him

I got him as an anniversary gift for my fiance who has wanted a sheltie for a long time. We adopted him yesterday from the humane society. His previous owner had halfassed shaved him so the HS shaved him all the way down. Judging by the scars on him, this poor guy has had a rough life.

Awww he's so kyuuuut.  OwO

Hooray for rescue animals!  All of my babies have been adopted from either a shelter or directly from previous owners who couldn't care for them anymore.  I wish you, your mate, and your new fluffy baby luck as he adjusts to his new home.  :)

I would give you a gigantic hug right now if I could!

Thankyou so much for adopting a shelter dog. It means the difference between surviving and thriving to a dog like that! I volunteer at Humane Societies all the time, and I see many a dog like this. I myself have a Saint Bernard who was neglected that I adopted from a shelter. It takes a big heart, and you get the utmost respect from me.

Thanks Bethanie.. Altho Alex is out 1st shelter rescue he is not our 1st rescue. My mate has rescued dogs and cats before and Ive also rescued several. The entire aspect of adoption has been wonderful. Alex is adjusting well and he and sunny are finally hitting it off (with a couple of minor "no Im the alpha" scraps).

We took Alex in today and had a vet check done and put him on heartworm preventative.

We also took Sunny(also a rescue) and had him microchipped and a checkup done.. For those reading this EVEN INDOOR DOGS MUST HAVE PREVENTATIVE. Sunny tested moderate positive for heartworms even tho hes rarely outside. We are going to have him treated and cured of this.
