New technique for making the inner skeleton for a fur head?

Has anybody looked into using a 3D printing (lithography) in a hard plastic resin?

This method would allow a custom shaped plastic or plastic like skull frame that
could be made in almost any shape. I've seen where this method was used to make
a custom perfectly shaped skull replacement cover for a person that had brain surgery.
They used the information from a MRI/CAT scan and entered the info into a cad program.   

This may be too cost prohibitive, but it's an idea.
The trick is to find a company that will make these items for individuals.
Because I'm sure that no one person could afford to buy a large enough
3D printer to create head sized plastic parts.

Also I'm sure that a 3D printer can be used to create all kinds of parts for fursuiters.
IE scales, claws, eyes, you name it.:-)

That would be extremely expensive just to make one head, even if you do get the cheap plastic. There are places that 3D print for individuals like Shapeways, but most 3D printers aren't big enough to make a shape large enough to put over your head, so you would probably have to go to a specialty place.
No, it's much more cost effective to just learn how to sculpt with clay and make a mold n' cast in foam latex if that's what you're going for, or just learn how to suit the original way.
No point is getting something printed in 3D just to to use as the skeleton. That's too much money to pay for something that you can do just as effectively using other materials, just takes more patience, but that's better than more money, yeah?

Yes I know that this processes could be expensive, but  I'm hoping that the cost of having
parts made with a 3d printer will go down. Generally as a new technology gets more popular
and prolific that cost of the equipment and the goods that device makes usually goes down.

Also I just wanted to get the idea out there.
