Personal Video Game Awards?
« on: January 25, 2012, 12:27:31 AM »
As, I'd think, Most of you would be aware, there are several aspects of a video game, so when someone says "What's your favourite video game?" You can sometimes be limiting some great features of video gaming, so here I ask for you to split your favourite games in terms of aspects of that game! Give your own Personal Awards to the games of your choice!

Here are some of the base awards that I have made, If you don't like one of them, Don't use it :P , If you think I missed something? Add the new award :D

Award of Innovation: What is the most original and "out there" game that doesn't seem to follow the mainstream gaming trends?
Award of Story: What game has the most complex and detailed story? What game tells its story the best? What game has the most original story? etc.
Award of Gameplay: What game has the easiest to use, free flowing, balanced and fun gameplay?
Award of Multiplayer: What is the game that has the most thrilling, fun and social multiplayer?
Award of Atmosphere: What game integrates you into the gaming world the best?
Award of Graphics: What has the most clean, smooth, detailed and optimized graphics?
Award of Aesthetics: What has the best Artistic style?
Award of Interactivity: What game lets you interact with your environment (such as destruction, physics, etc) the best?
Award of Sound: What Game has the most clear, realistic and nice sound, in terms of ingame sound and soundtrack!

Again you can make as many or as few awards you want, and you don't have to use all those awards, there just there to give you some ideas XD Tell me your Awards :D

for me I allocate these awards :D
Innovation: Portal, close contenders were MC and Gmod, but Portal really makes you see your world differently.  :)
Story: Half life, Mass Effect had a more detailed story, but I gave this one to HL because of the way the story is told in that game :)
Gameplay: Grand Theft Auto 4, for me, the gameplay was really smooth, and there was heaps of room to change the way you play :D
Multiplayer: I'm also giving this to Grand Theft Auto 4, the multiplayer really does more then just shoot other players for me, you can make a lot of new friends (and new enemies >:3 )
Atmosphere: This has to go to Skyrim, Metro 2033 was a very close contender though, but with Skyrim you can react to the world on a much deeper way :D
Graphics: for me, Battlefield 3 hands down, this game has completely revolutionized the graphics industry in the modern era :D
Aesthetics: I'd say Portal 2 deserves this award, the Aesthetics of the game were really nice, the artistic design and colours were something to remember :)
Interactivity: Half life 2, I don't think any game lets you... well forces you to use the world in the same way as Half life 2 :P
Sound: Binding Of Issac, Battlefield 3 had a much clearer in game sound, but the Soundtrack of Binding of Issac just stole this award for them haha :P

So tell me yours! I'd love to hear them :D

Award of Innovation: Amnesia: The Dark Descent.
Award of Story: Heavy Rain or Red Dead Redemption
Award of Gameplay: Assassin's Creed 2
Award of Multiplayer: Battlefield 3
Award of Atmosphere: Fallout 3
Award of Graphics: Battlefield 3.... again
Award of Aesthetics: Borderlands
Award of Interactivity: Battlefield 3.... AGAIN
Award of Sound: You guessed it.... Battlefield 3

Keep in mind though, Battlefield 3 isn't my #1 favorite game of all time, it had it's flaws, it was just especially good in those areas.
