« on: February 13, 2024, 12:31:04 PM »
(Already made a post in insects but I thought I might just make a more suited topic  :3)

Any other invertebrates here :D?

Crustaceans, arachnids, medusozoa, etc  ^_^ ^_^

my fursona’s an isopod - a mixture of the common rough and common shiny woodlouse

Sonas: Lumi - teal house cat | Beepy/Beewee - black house cat | Iso - green isopod | Juniper - blond house cat (it’s a little crowded in here isn’t it)

I don't have a fursona as one but I really do love Arthropods  :D I could nerd out about Spiders, Insects, etc. for hours.

I guess one question could be: what made you decide on making your fursona an isopod Ves  :) ?

Eeeh, not any spider species in specific. He has traits from a few different species, and some made-up. Mobility of a jumping spider, web spinning of course, but more generalist and broad rather than a specific niche. Every species has their own unique type of web spinning. Orb weavers have the classic webs, but you have ogre spiders who spin nets to hunt with, bolas spiders, which is a type of orb weaver, who spins a "bolas" which is just a silk line with a sticky blob at the end that they swing. Then you get the really crazy stuff like diving bell spiders who make underwater nests. Not all spiders make webs though, jumping spiders for instance only really use silk as an anchor line for a bad jump, or to make a pup tent during rain.

Nah. Weaver doesn't have any fur. More emphasis on a hard exoskeleton than a furry body.

I typically only draw Weaver with four eyes. No species that I know off the top of my head have that exact number. Eight is typical, though I think there is one cave dwelling species that have none.

Yeah  :squint: Google likes to say Spiders have from 4 to 8 eyes, but I couldn't find the elusive 4 eyed ones (first thought I had it with the ogre faced spider, but she has a few on the back of her head). Might be another one of those cave dwelling spiecies.
