She stared at the photo for some time. Acon even ran a finger over her father's jaw as if to really feel it. She chuckled at how Ray emphisized on his strength. "Wow. He sounds like quite the jar head." She joked. "But in a good way." She paused and stared at the picture for a moment longer. "Ok. So what was he like personality wise?"

*I smile at the memories of Herman.* "He was a relatively jovial guy...but we all were before the war. When we got into it, he was the guy we looked up to. He never seemed depressed, never sad, never scared. He was the wrought iron soldier the Fatherland wanted. Herman...he never seemed to have the problems we did. He kept her close, your mom, I mean. She was the thing that got him out of that funk in Cherbourg. He really cared about her...I guess that's because he knew about...well, you. I'm sorry you never got to meet him, he'd explain it better than I can." *I pull out a cigarette, and a small silver lighter.* "I will say this though...*lights cigarette* when he fell, into depression, I mean, he fell hard. But all I had to say was 'Think about your wife, and your kid.' And boom, it's like someone hit a switch." *I quickly run a paw across my eyes.* "Verdammt, gone and upset myself."

"Wrought iron soldier." She repeated. Acon couldn't delieve her mother was able to catch a guys like that. "A mind as hard as firm stone and a heart made completely out of sugar." She said, remembering having heard Magnolia say those very words. "Well, if he hadn't I probably never would have met you, Ray. I mean, whay with Mom, loosing her mind little by little every day and her lacking a heart. I need you, you're like MY rock, much like dad was yours." She said, trying to go over memories without him and even her mother and inserted them in, making new memories to reminice over.

*I lean forward, pressing my elbows against my knees, and clasping my hands together.* "I will always be there for you. Your father...I owe him my life. It's the least I can do. I'm not saying I'm here to replace Herman...I couldn't do that, even with all the help in the world." *I lean back up, and place my paw on the bench beside me, palm down* "Just know that you're family, and family comes first. Come Hell or high water, family comes first."

Acon smiled to herself and continued to go through and piece together her memories like a collage as she stared at the photo with misty eyes. "Family comes first. Yeah, that's something I've never heard before." She stated, being completely serious. Acon had been completely alone for most of her child hood. She never had a steady home or family and had always flip floped between boxes on the side walk and foster homes that accepted furry kids. Until her 19th birthday, Acon never had any family or friends.

*I look at Acon, and then the cafe.* "You think we should head back in? They're probably wondering what happened." *I look back at Acon, before standing up, offering my paw.* "Take my paw, if you wish."

Acon nodded and took Ray's paw into her own. "Yeah, better get back or she'll pretend to worry." She said with a roll of her eyes.

*he rushes out the café doors and in through the doors of the Planet Saints across the street, he is in awe, so many options for clothing to chose from* Oh, so many different styles and colors, decisions decisions. *he notices that the changing rooms come fit with a touch screen and a holographic clothing projector* Sweet! Now I can see what I look good in. Where to start? Hmm
