Left, of course being liberal, and right being conservative
Again this is more for survey purposes, not for debate
 I am around 8.5, mostly conservative

Depends. There's more to liberal and conservative. Unlike most people think, there are 6 lines on that Scale.

0 Is middle.
On the right, there is Conservative Autocrat on the top, Conservative neautral in the middle, and Conservative Democratic on the bottom.
On the left, there is Autocratic Libral on top, Neautral Liberal in middle, and Democratic Liberal on bottom.

0 to 10 Is the Right, and 0 to -10 Is the Left.
