Movie morals that fail
« on: February 04, 2015, 01:44:27 PM »
Can I just say how much I HATE Jurassic parks "Don't play god" moral, I mean I understand it, but a far better moral for that movie would be, "Play god responsibly" or "Don't clone dangerous animals while being a complete idiot about" or perhaps just "Don't be an idiot"

The fact is Jurassic parks plot would not be that different if it was lions and tigers rather than raptors and a T-Rex. Dumb things happen, animals escape cages, animals eat lawyer, heroes escape island, the end. But because it happens to be some dinosaurs doing the escaping it suddenly becomes all "Don't play god with DNA" and "Nature finds a way". T_T the fact is they didn't escape because they were dinosaurs, they escaped because the humans tending them were being stupid when they set the island up!
Even if the cloning of the T-Rex and Raptors was a bad idea, what about all the awesome herbivores? was that also a mistake? Are you saying I will never see a triceratops because "Nature finds a way" and some guys on an island decided it was too dangerous for humanity?

Lets face it, If I could clone a dinosaur, I would do so in an instant.  :3

So do any of you guys know any Movies which you feel horribly butcher the message?

((I am talking about badly done messages here, talking about if a message is actually "Right" or "Wrong" tends to cause flame-wars, so lets not go there!  >.> ))

American Sniper had a terrible message.

There are sheep, that follow and need protection. There are wolves, that hunt the sheep. And there are sheep dogs, that protect the sheep from the wolves.

All Iraqi's, Muslims, etc are wolves
All people who are a bit conflicted about the war in Iraq and Afghanistan are sheep
And the patriotic American who loves killing ragheads are sheep dog, MURRICA!

...seriously x.x

That's not the message I got from that movie at all tbh, I thought of it more as a memorial to the history of the guy than anything. It was about a man who defended his country, that's what I pulled from it.

 FDF forever!

Jurassic park's moral failure is an exercise in Darwinism. :o
