Hey! I haven't been on for a lonnngggggg time and I need to make this quick, but I have a request for everyone!


I am calling all of you to PLEASE help a fellow furry.


I have been running Minecraft servers for a couple years now and the new terms and conditions state that I can not (now can anyone else) earn money from MC in any way. This includes accepting server donations!


If this stays in the EULA I will be forced to shut down my server forever.


Please sign this petition to get it removed!

Seems I have been misinformed:

This was always in the EULA, the new edition only stated it more clearly.

I still believe maybe it is time for Mojang to reconsider this and remove it completely.

We made a clan for our MC server (That spanned TF2 and Gmod as well), all donations went to the clan and then were used to pay for the MC server (as well as others), so technically no money was made from MC, but was made from the clan. You could do the same thing if you're nervous about violating T&C

I ended up shutting down my server to focus on other things in life... it was sad to let it go but most people were already gone for reasons that elude me.

For those who stayed I made a redirect so they would not lose their friends forever.

i know a little more about this the new eula does sate you cant charge for ranks because thats unfar you have to give all user of the server access to the items that need to be paid for i will edit this when i track down a video made by a member in the minecraft community named bebopvox  he did a very informative video of this

Minecraft is amazing.

It's really hard to explain, but you're basically in an infinite world where you punch trees and the world is made of cubes. It's pretty much a sandbox game taken to a whole new level. It's hard to compare to any other game, because it's unique.

I tried to download mods a few times but it's just to hard to do.

Maybe we should make a Minecraft thread, maybe a group server.

I don't play video games. They're too distracting to me and they make me dizzy and lonely like I'm trapped in a nightmare of unusual reality limited to the size of the game and repetition of graphic theme. Infinity and punching things also sounds terrifying to me .-. I like tangible, living, social and long-lasting things that don't disappear if memory gets wiped.

What's the issue you want help with though? Change org isn't working for me right now

I get that, OP said donations, too.
So third party servers can't charge for access, I figure? I don't think a petition would prevent the change unless it's bought in public ownership which it seems it is not.

I have read the new eula forwards and backwards. Unfortunately, without a reward or benefit about half the people who donate will choose not to.

People just don't have that kind of money to spare, and running a server is expensive.


I should mention that this petition is no longer active - it was shut down the next day but not before getting thousands of signatures.
