I invented a dish a couple of years ago as part of a project in school. It was very simple due to tight budget (I mean come on, 10$ was short as *SUGARCOOKIE*), so I decided to improve it later on. For a while it was only called "School Project", until I decided to name it after its appealing look. Hope you find this recipe interesting
Ingredients (3 servings): Hot dish 400g of ground meat, any kind
3-5 large cloves of garlic
2 large(!) handfulls of shredded cheese, any kind that melts well (Not "American cheese")
Omelette 4 large eggs
A little salt (About 1/4 tsp)
A splash of liquid (Milk or cream adds to the flavour)
(Optional) Additional spices
Salad 1/4 head of lettuce
150g (Or a small can) of sweet corn
2 tomatoes
1/3 of a cucumber (Adjust measurements depending on size)
1 bell pepper
Margarine for frying
Preparation: Chop the ingredients for the salad and mix well.
Beat the eggs and mix with the liquid, salt and additional spices. Set the mixture aside.
Fry the ground meat on medium to high heat until it's browned and cooked through. Turn down the heat to medium. Chop, mince or crush garlic and mix with the meat. Cook for about a minute and then even out the mixture.
If necessary, remix the omelette mix and then pour it into a second, preheated and buttered frying pan. Divide the seasoned meat into equal servings and spread the cheese on top. Put lids on both pans and cook both hot dishes on medium to low heat until the omelette is cooked through.
Serving: Divide the omelette into equal parts in the pan and put each slice on separate plates. Separate the servings of meat by the inevitably connected cheese and add each serving to the plates, next to the omelette slices. Finish off by adding the salad in the remaining third of the plate. The dish should look somewhat like the Mercedes-Benz logo when you serve it.
Bon appétit!
