So I am going to be doing an intro to furry panel at a convention I am helping staff. Any who I'm assuming i will get the question "I thought furry was a big sex thing?" So I am writing out an answer to that, So far I have an explanation for the whole CSI episode and some other stuff. But I am wondering why furaffinity one of the biggest furry websites out there has so much porn? Does anyone know why this is? or have any serious guesses?

Well, it's the biggest -furry- art site and it happens to allow adult content. Other big art sites like dA don't allow that kind of art so many furry artists on there also have a FA-page to dump off their adult art on.
Why there is so much adult art on there is probably because "some people" (Way too weak but no idea how else to put it) like it and artists who try to make a living off their art draw what they're paid to draw. It's no secret that adult stuff sells. And it's not only limited to furries and "furry things" either.

It's always felt like a misconseption that porn only exists in Furry form and that Furry Art only exists in porn form. It is true that FurAffinity does have quite a bit of porn, however I've more or less found a way to get around it by ignoring it. People think it's this sick, disgusting practice, but I don't see why porn is such a problem. It's disgusting, but it doesn't hurt anyone or affect anyone's life.

All of those big furry art sites succumb to it. FA is filled with a large amount, of general porn, with a decent mix of clean stuff.

Inkbunny I feel has a higher porn-to-clean art ratio, with the majority of that porn being Cub (obviously since it's the go-to ever since FA banned it.)

Weasyl is for all your uppity porn. The stuff people think's too good for the other sites.

Sofurry is, well, the underdog really .w.

And then e621 has probably the best ratio of porn-to-clean art.

The bonus of FA is that you can always throw on the SFW mode, if you don't want to see the adult content. I don't know if the other sites have that function [Aside from e621, I think you can do a special tag search by removing adult/questionable content.]
