yes this will be a adventure into something we all use
the internet
and ways we can turn a pc into basically a router of a sorts with 2 routers 1 windows computer (i believe windows
onwards if not windows 7 onwards)and a internet connection
a bit of background
as from here icp or ICP will refer to Internet Connection Sharing)
ICP is a protocol on a windows computer that maps the data coming from one end through a connection (RJ45 for those with wireless or usb and a wireless connection for those with RJ45) to another in such a way that a router that isnt wireless can then go to one that is or vise versa using a computer and can be seen as a way of connecting more computers somewhere that is not possible to run a cable (this is where a good wireless comes in) and say you want file sharing (theres a few steps to that) so what do you do you have one computer in one place say your brother who has tons of movies and your in another room with the internet and normally to share those movies you need to find a usb or such (network attached storage devices or a nas is great for this) so what do you use? our friend/enemy (it can be hard to set up) ICP it can help with this by having you on one network but also it can act as a second ip adress if you like (ill look into this it might see 2 different ip addresses)
basically ICS can be good and bad at the same time
how it works
First, you'll need one computer, called the host computer, that's connected to the Internet and that has a separate connection to the other computers on your network. You'll enable ICS on the Internet connection. The other computers on your network then connect to the host computer, and from there to the Internet through the host computer's shared Internet connection.
My adventure using this
Today i revived my psp (play station portable) and after many hrs of looking i figured out my current internet connection (a mobile hotspot
) did not have what the psp supported as a encryption prototypical so after alot of googling and asking the boyfriend he said to turn my current wireless receiver into a router and i dont know how to do this he tried to help but i wouldn't listen so now when we both cool off and i get the gear set up im hoping he can help me do the things needed to make this work
this journey shall continue in a few days time with a conclusion (hopefully)
