In the train station, Jefuri sat on a bench, hugging his backpack while in thought. He arrived in Tokyo a couple weeks ago, and inn fees drained his money too thin for a ticket back. He was stuck with almost nothing to his name, all for nothing, yet he had less regret than expected. It was absurd and foolish to think, but exploring the massive city without his parents breathing down his neck was enough to keep a semi-positive attitude. Maybe he caught a case of lunacy, but at least he was well aware it was going to severely bite him in the rear later. Best to make the most of it before the horror sets in.
