Help with breaking up with someone
« on: September 04, 2016, 10:25:51 PM »
I started dating this guy awhile back and he said it was totally okay that I'm a transgender male and that he understood it. (I'm on testosterone but I haven't been on it long I have some body shape changes and some facial hair) then out of the blue he said "I have mixed feelings about your changes and I don't know how to feel about all these changes, why are you changing? I don't understand" I told him he should break up with me but he refuses to and has been really rude lately. How do I end my relationship with him? I'm having a hard time with it @.@

Honestly even though he said he was OK with you being transgender, obviously there was no meaning behind his words, or his views changed, or he can't accept that he's really going out with another man. Regardless of the reason, those kinds of people are toxic and you're much better off without them before the situation gets worse.

I think it's in your best interest to break up with him if he doesn't realize his mistakes after talking to him about it.

Thank you for the help. I'm thinking about sending him a message late at night then maybe blocking his number (he likes to guilt trip and he goes to the other school in town so I don't have to worry about anything like running into him)

Often people say they understand, or say 'Ok', when they honestly have no idea. It could be indeed that he simply said he's fine with it, but didn't know fully at the time what you meant (and probably still doesn't understand.
It seems a bit odd that you have asked him to break up with you. You think he's rude and not understanding of the situation. You are want to break-up, because he's being rude and whatnot. Even after you have talked to him about it, he still continues to act in the way that he does.

It sounds like a good idea that you send him a message. Keep it neutral, leave emotions out of the message, and then block him if you feel that's best :)
