A 2nd Chance for Her...

She was a great athlete, friend and relative; but she was flawed, she couldn't handle stress over small things...She had no friends but for her travel companoion, a colossal deep blue wolf-dog with blood red eyes. He was called Kaicib and she had him forever and he stayed with her always. They were each others support, she couldn't live without him. Her face was gaurded, her emotions locked. He was the only thing that saw her as she was, not as she tried to be. "I want to go back..." She muttered, turning back and starting off again, her pace was quick and kept her focused.

He stood in front her and lightly took hold of her wrist, his red eyes pleading. She ripped her wrist out and continued on her way, ignoring him. He sat down and watched her go, there was nothing he could do for her, the human of his dreams...She was lost...

As she was on her way to deeper parts of the woods, a low whistle sounded. She ducked instinctively; an arrow whizzed past, missing her by half an inch.

She stopped a few miles into the woods and lay on the ground, crying. Her face was scratched from falling and getting back to her feet repeatedly. She couldn't breath well and she knew she was gonna die.

She blacked out. The pain from her heart stopped anything else reaching her..Kaicib walked over and laid beside her, licking her cheeks. "Aurora, please, wake up. THey can't find you here.." When she wouldn't stir, he sliped under her and carried her to the woods, stopping at a cottage on the very edge. He howled.

A boy about nineteen with stormy blue eyes, shoulder-length black hair, a six foot even frame, and dark clothing tapped Kaicib on the shoulder gently and motioned to follow. Kaicib inclined his head and did so, making sure Aurora was still secure on his back. "Roraint, they got her and kicked her all to hell...is she going to be ok?" He asked, licking her cheek again as he laid her down on the bed Roraint had indicated inside his house. "Yes, if I can reach her still..." He replied, checking her pulse and begining to use CPR on her. Please don't die on me..Kaicib is already so unbalanced..Just don't... Roraint thought, continuing to try to get her breathing. She gasped and her eyes fluttered. He tried again with renewed energy, succeeding in her opening her eyes. "Lo sleeping beauty." He said with a smile. "You alright? You look pretty good considering the stuff you've been through. How do you feel?"

"Where am I? Who the heck are you?!" Aurora demanded, flipping out. "KAICIB!!" She shouted, her vision was blurred with tears and Roraniant laid his hand on her forehead, gently but firmly pushing her back into a laying position. "Stay. He's alright. Now stop overexerting yourself, you've lost quite a bit of blood but you'll be fine." His smile was the most handsome---Stop that! What is wrong with you?-- She nodded slowly and looked around, heart racing. A beep next to her made her jolt upright again. "WHAT THE HECK IS THAT?!!"

Roraniant chuckled and she glared at him. "Your heart monitor. It says you're alive and your heart is racing. You need to calm down. I'll get you some soup." He assured her, walking out of the room and returning with a steaming mug of hot chocolate and some tomato soup. Aurora took it shakily and sipped the soup, smiling. "It's great. You make it?" He was practically beaming at her. "Yep. THe hot chocolate too. From scratch." Her eyes widened and he stroked her hair, helping her to sit up.

"What are you doing? Why aren't you working on your farm or something?" She asked, fighting him weakly to get off the bed. It felt like she was in prison and she shuddered. "LET ME GO!!"

Romaine frowned and gave her a sympathetic look. “Now, now…” He started as she rolled her eyes grumpily. “Yea, yea. Leave me alone Mr. Boss.” She snarled, frustrated and defeated. God I hate men. She thought. Her fingers twirled her hair around them nervously.

Romaine’s heart broke as he helped her to her feet and out of the bed. “Don’t let Kaicib see you…” She grinned. “Of course not!” She leaned against him weakly, her cheeks flaming. “Are you blushing?” He teased, trailing his fingers along her jaw line, causing her to blush harder.

thanks guys. I'm sorry its so short and the updates are few and far between but I'm really trying. Bear with me here. Than kgod we have two weeks off though! I can finally get some much needed stuff done!
