The difference between "Fun" and "Serious" is that "Serious" doesn't allow Out of character messages or the like. To discuss those matters usually there's a companion thread that tags with the RP itself, found on the compagnion board.

understood, thank you for your help!   but i still dont understand some of the serious rp, like when they set the scene they dont quite explain what kind of world it is and what there character is.

Usually you must carefully introduce a character. Spread out over multiple lines, they give a look as detailed as they wish of the person. Name, species, and gender are basically always present.
And if the world is introduced inproperly, remember it's not your fault. Unless you were the one to start the RP up, of course.
Try finding the companion board and see if you can get the needed info there. You can ask for it if it's not present too.
