I'm planning on naming my snake Sliske. (Pronounced sliss-KAY. Keep going with that second S for as long as you like. Just try it. Slisssssssskay. Sneky as heck.)
He's a big bad guy from a game I like to play, and while not actually related to snakes or reptiles in any way, he's often described as "Sliske the serpent-tounged" due to his unpredictable nature and tendency to entice victims with deals too good for them to pass up only to have the fine print become their eventual downfall.
Which sounds kinda similar to a bunch of other snakes I've heard of. It's a really sneky thing to do.
What's even better, in my native language, the rather similar word "Sliskig" means icky/gross/slimy/slippery. That's how many people like to perceive snakes.
But the way Sliske sounds (and looks to me when written) also brings images of a small child having a pet snail named Slimy or a centipede named Crawly to mind.
It's a cutesy-gross name, in a way. I personally like stuff like that.
Dunno how good of a name it'd make for someone who does not play that game, know the character or who most likely won't be able to get that extra pun-effect out of the name due to language difference, but it sounds like something that in any case would make a pretty ok snake name imo. I just really love how it sounds.
Slissssssssss.......*Goes on forever*
