Don't be afraid to be yourself, in fact I had the same problem, I kept it a secret for 2 or 3 until I spilled my guts to a friend in private, I recommend you tell your closest friend when you feel the time is right. Take it from me yiff is not something you want to get into, it can make your life terrible, worrying about if your parents will catch you looking at it. My parents finally found some of the yiff stuff and it was not pretty, I felt like crap for a few days, I couldn't even look my dad in the eye.

My family already has the wrong idea about furries, so if I told them, they'd just jump to conclusions. So I keep it secret and plan to keep doing so. I just deal with it. *shrugs*

the reason why people are scared to admit to being a furry is because the wrong side of the fandom is highlighted.. -if- you feel like you have to tell your parents/friends/other familiars i suggest slowly giving them some info about it (though dont just sit down to speak out, that's not gonna work) unless your parents are already familiar with the furry fandom as a lifestyle, rather than a fetish.. in that case, it probably won't be a big deal to them.

I know how you feel nobody in real life that I know, family and other, knows Im a furry. I'm scared to tell them because they always laugh and make lewd comments whenever such things come up on TV. Your not a lone out there. I'm proud to be a furry, but I also love my family Id hate to create strife. Sometimes its better to keep secrets

and i described it to her then I was like furry pride!!

Very nice glad to hear you are making progress. I myself am keeping it a secret from my parents however my closest friend knows I am a furry and after that he said he was a feline furry. So you never know how people will react.
