Oh, thank you very much! *happy dance*
These are my professor-approved questions, so I hope they're good!
1. How do you describe your sexual orientation as a Furry? Does Furry take the place of, or is it an addition to, your orientation?
2. When and how did you realize you were a Furry?
3. What factors, if any, influenced this?
4. How did you define your fursona?
5. Do many people know about your orientation?
6. What is the difference between fur suits and simple ears and tail?
7. How are you treated by non-Furries?
8. What is your perception of the general public's opinion on Furries?
9. Do you believe this will change over time?
10. Define Furry, in your own words.
If you want to answer any of these at all, I'd be very happy Also, if you want to say anything else, please feel free I don't know much at all about Furries, so this paper is mostly blank at the moment. Any insights would be extremely helpful!
I'm very interested in this culture, I'll say again. I find it very appealing
1. In addition to. The Furry-ness is more of a hobby or turn-on, that applies to what ever orientation you might be, in my opinion
2. When? About 2 or three years ago. How? Well, I honestly can't remember much, but I specifically don't remember it being spurred by a single event, so if I were to guess I stumbled across furies on the internet, Liked it, and joined them. A rather boring story if you ask me, but Occam's Razor I guess.
3. Redwall, My sister especially liked Redwall, and I would say it is a contributing factor.
4. (Using my otter fursona) Again, my sister in her obsession with Redwall at the time made "fursona's" (She didn't think of it like that, she just thought of it as our Redwall alter-ego's) for us. My Brother and I were otters and she named me Seafur. I forgot about this whole thing until I heard about furries, and when I thought about a fursona Seafur came to mind.
5. I would like to ask for clarification on this. Do you mean sexual preference or our furryness?
6. Fursuits denote a much more devoted furry, someone who is fun-loving and likes to be in the center of the fun. While the ears and a tail (which I would probably prefer) denotes a more conservative "I'm a furry, but not radical about it" kind of person.
7. Not many know, simply because I don't find it too incredibly important to bring up, but my family is understanding and respectful if a bit wary. And my friends like to tease me about it, but in a good-natured way.
8. Most people have never heard of a furry, but those who have probably heard it from that CSI episode and the like, therefore probably giving them a rather negative pre-disposition .
9. No
10. A furry is someone who enjoys anthropomorphic art, but only you really choose to be a furry or not.
Well, I hoped you liked that interview from the resident decepticon here. Good luck on your paper!
