Does anyone know how to fix Active Pickups on a guitar?
« on: August 20, 2009, 11:48:16 PM »
The story goes, the pickups on my bass have suddenly stopped working. I changed the batteries and tightened the jack-socket and there's still no sound coming from the pickups  :'(
Anyone know what might be causing this?

Well I think I can help you but I dont have enough info. Did they stop working in the middle of you playing it? It could be just that the volume settings on either the amp or guitar are just turned to zero...It happens to me all the time and it scares me to death. If not then it could be just a loose wire inside. You'll have to take the pickups out check the wires and put them back in. If that still doesn't work, I suggest bringing it in.

Yep, there's your problem! The wire connecting the pickups to the battery has snapped in the centre  o.O I've replaced the wire and it works a treat now! Thanks ^_^
