Privacy violated
« on: December 03, 2009, 11:31:44 PM »
Today in 3rd period, I got up to go to the bathroom before class started. I came back 4 minuets later to find 4 of my friends digging through my sketchbook looking at my drawing of anthropomorphic characters. They know what furries are, so how do I explain? Here's how the conversation went.

Me: What are you doing!?
Them: What is this (girl in the background: I want to see the wolf!)
Me: Hey! (I reach for my book as my friend holds it away. My other friend grabs it from his hand and shuffles through the pages.
Them: Dude? What the [censored]?
Me: Auugh! Give it back!
Them: I never knew dude. (friend hands it back, and says: Yiff in hell)
Me: *sigh* [censored] you! (I walk out of the room and sit down at my locker and miss the first 10 minuets of class.

What should I have done? Why me?  :'(

There just drawings right? I don't really get what the big deal is? Are they pornographic?

No..

I do draw females though but not like that.

However if you just looked at my drawing you could definitely tell I was a furry.

what should you have done?
i think you did what anyone else would have. You handled it ok. Be proud of yourself, no matter what these idiots do or say.

Why you?
It's not about you. They have their own problems, which lead to events like these. It's simply an interaction between you and some unfinished individuals. It didnt have to be you, it could have been anyone. It just happened to be you.

this is the way school life is. People just arent grown up yet.
"Parents always think kids are wasting their youth, and always have done [so] down through the millennia," says Tom Forsyth of RAD Game Tools. "'That Ug, always holding things. His front paws will develop in funny ways. Why can't he walk on all fours like normal proto-hominids?' And so, whatever the kids spend the most time doing, that's always what parents think is a waste of time, and what is corrupting their lives. It doesn't matter what that is. If all they did was homework, parents would be worrying that their kids aren't becoming well-rounded people. And, in fact, parents do this - enrolling math nerds in karate classes and the like. There is no way to win - parental paranoia ensures that kids are always doing the wrong thing."

Well, I haven't talked to anyone else for the rest of the day, Id hate to go to school and find out everyone knows, but I guess im proud of who I am, I mean if they know who cares? If they cant be mature, I guess I will have to be mature.

unlike everyone else saying its due to family based problems I believe its in their genuine interest to harass and belittle people to seem like the 'cool kids'

However contrary to popular belief these kids arent cool, they are just stupid, it's a phase they will grow out of,

if not then invite them to a 'friendly' game of dodgeball and show them that you don't yiff and beat the stuffing out of them in an official sport

if they decide to hate and pick on you over a simple little drawing, they were never your friends to begin with

I got to congratulate you. Even the fires of hell are no match for your calm coolness!
You handled the situation very well. You didn't resort to violence (While with me they would have been through the nearest window)
and you just walked away without escalating the conflict.
They've shown their true colors, so now you know who your true alliances lie.

I'm sorry for your loss though... :(

You handled that well.
& they don't seem like real friends to judge you like that.
REAL friends accept you for who you are, no matter what.
If they still tease you, calmly tell them to stop.
& if they don't, leave them. They are not worth it.

if they dont accept you for who you are, then to froomp with them
If people are like 'cool your furry' then they either dont really care or accept it,

either way it's better then being troll'd

Exactly. Its no cool for a friend to troll another friend.
Based on their reaction, I'd just leave them, really....

If it's any consolation, some girls asked to see my sketchbook today, and they called the pictures I had of V'ver "cat woman".

I think you handled this situation well. :3 *hugs Garis*

Man, if there was one person there i would talk to, it would be the girl who said "I want to see the Wolf!" cause she seems to like them. Find out if the girl texting is making fun of you.
Criteria #1
Find out what she wants, if it seems erotic or strange, stop texting and block her phone.
Criteria #2
What area are you in? If you are in a Southern (US) area, pray to not get beat up (thats life :( )
Otherwise, find the furry friendly community.
But other than that you handled it amazingly. I would have socked the guy there and then.

Hold up you head high as you won a personal victory in ignoring them. Be the better person and ignore their hateful words.
