The storms were kinda exaggerated by the news imo. It wasn't that bad unless you were in the northen area of Sydney. I was in the middle-ish and it just felt like a typical rainy day.
Last year was horrible though. I was still living in my old house and the entire backyard flooded. There was literally a lake in our backyard. Not kidding.

The way my back/side yard is done, a lake always shows up when it rains.
One year there were hailstorms so bad we had to clear out the whole back yard by sweeping the water and hailstones out.
