umm... it's better than me. I didn't go numb, so I ended up not moving. but since you're numb, be careful, since you won't know when your muscles finally give out.

and.... we weren't running along the treeline, we ran towards it. you know, the edge of the forest. we were expecting to hike it, but ended up sprinting, and then dead-sprinting. had we just normally ventured through, we prolly would've made it out by sun-down. the average walking speed is 2-3 mph. sprints of healthy people are about 5-6 mph. dead-sprint, up to 10mph, exerting all energy from the body and exceeding one's muscle limitations, resulting in muscle failure and/or tearing.
