Definitely a difference. You need majicka to do magic. Without majicka, attempting magic kills you.
Just as a reminder: The only reason Talin lived is because of the magic barriers in that village that stopped the spell from going far enough to kill him. Shinzuu said that Talin is only partial dragon because he allowed it to happen and that he was being lenient, and not to get pompous about it. (Not my words, his. So please don't get upset with me, since it's him and not me.)

The only thing I could find near that date, of what you didn't like (or hated) from back then, was that I constantly refused to let the pills do what they were supposed to do.

Unless it was a PM, beyond me going nuts during the last training session with Mo, I don't think I really got any notification that being stuck half-way was a big no-no.
