Kin Chronicles Realm: Betrayal of the Guardians

"Crap... why did Kitt tell me that. First Lo and now him, why me. I don't need more stress, I already have to worry about my shields failing to hold up everytime we go into battle..." *He just stood there for a few seconds still thinking about the terrible truth he thinks about every time he looks at Kitt* "Well at least he has no idea what I know, so that gives me an advantage. But why was his grandfather here?" *He thought about it for a long time* "Hmm.. odd place to stay, either it was dumb luck or this guy knew Kitt was coming." *He looked up noticing the group was leaving him in the dust* "HEY! Wait for me." *He ran to catch up and walked along following behind Korius*

When Kiana turned Talin around, he nodded as he followed behind her. "Just getting used to the idea of self-discipline, and its not all that its cracked up to be..." After they left the city and castle in the distance behind them, Talin's headache started going away even though he really couldn't get himself to be alert. "So, who are we going to behead next? A muscle-head guardian, a female guardian?"

Drevo left with the others, followed by Alexis. "Take care out there." she said as they neared the exit of town. "Yep." responded Drevo without turning around. He walked along in the silence, observing the falcon. He always enjoyed birds. When Talin had mentioned a female guardian Drevo blushed slightly and pulled his hat down to cover his face. The thought of a female guardian, surely he would die. "If there is a female...I hope she's last...Killing...Let alone hitting...A woman...I'd rather die. Let's just hope it won;t come to that."

Kitt walked silently, casting his eyes over the scenery before them as a faint smile caught at the edge of his mouth. He pulled down his hood and whistled. Up ahead the falcon turned her head slightly, before turning away again.

Kitt sighed and whistled again, this time holding out a gloved hand. The falcon clicked her beak and let out a shrill shriek, then she unfurled her wings and glided over to Kitt, swooping past the various members of the group as she went. The falcon fluttered to a stop and perched on Kitt's arm. He stroked her head absentmindedly as he walked and held the bird close to his chest.

Korius sighed at the thought of the next fight, "Our next target's another one of Iridian's proteges. Daxus Ferdinande. You know, after being around for as many years as you have lived, I would think you would at least know which guardians control which areas, and their names. Anyways, he's a man of very few words, but a very strong one. The only man in the world who can fight with 8 weapons at one time. In terms of physical strength, he is one of the strongest, despite his ranking among the Guardians. Like our previous fights, we can't half-ass this."

Kiana listened to what Chrono asked and, at the mention of the possibility of a female guardian, she seemed to get a little excited. That little bit of excitement was squashed as soon as she heard the name Korius said and knew it as a guy's name. "Didn't half-ass the last one and that didn't turn out so well for two of you." She muttered, not in an angry voice, just a reminder of information that was already known. "But at least Kitt and I can fight in the big battle with this one." She didn't know that for a fact but she sure as hell hoped that it was true. Sitting out of another battle would surely drive her crazy.

"I still remember how it ended too, my head agrees with me everytime I remember." *He softly touched the bruise on his forehead* "Dammit I must look so ugly now." *He parted his hair trying to cover it up and sighed looking away from the others, feeling that he probably made himself more noticeable than he was comfortable with* "It's not my fault that Korius smashed into my head after I HEALED his poison." *He cracked his knuckle and then hid it*

Talin kept himself from snorting loudy, but the attitude was still there. Making it sound like we actually coordinate our attacks, I can't be the only one that knows that our group has no qualms in tossing people around. He was finally aware that his hangover was completely gone, even though he was still very hungry. Man, why didn't I eat before getting drunk?!

"I didn't think we did all that bad...I cut his freakin' hand off! Or was it his thumb? Hrmm...Well...We have a falcon now. Maybe it can punch something!" Drevo mused in his head. The thought brought a smirk to his face. "Anyone think it's been too quiet? I mean...I think the last time we-...An attempt was made on our lives was when those women tried to kill me. What do you think, Korius?" "Maybe I'm crazy..."

Kitt glanced up when Kiana spoke, grinning "Yeah, I 'aint sitting out on another fight like that..." With a sudden flutter of feathers Evellyn leapt from Kitt's arm and flew upwards over the groups heads. Kitt flinched momentarily, before watching the falcon curiously.

As the bird reached her third spiral upwards she suddenly dropped, wings folded and rocketing towards the ground. The falcon disappeared from view in the long grass of the field to the left, followed a moment later by a shrill squeak. The falcon emerged a moment later, flapping hard to carry the body of a small vole in her talons. Kitt grinned as the falcon landed in a small tree further down the road and started to eat "Well... At least this is a pet that can feed itself, eh?"

Korius' ear twitched a bit as he heard Kiana while thinking about the situation, "Well, that will help quite a bit. A fight with Daxus is going to be exceptionally harder than our fight with Dikenschtein. Being one of Iridian's proteges, he's a whole new league compared to a weapons specialist. Even IF Dikenschtein is the founder of the Rangers... the power of a Weapon Master is far beyond what Dikenschtein had achieved." He then stared into the sky, his mind swimming in the thoughts of trying to figure out what the hell was wrong with them not being pursued. So much so, that he didn't even hear what Drevo said.

Kiana glanced at Drevo then at Korius when he spoke. She was partly surprised that Korius had even heard her speak since he seemed to not acknowledge her sometimes. Her mind turned back to Drevo's posed question. "It is quiet..." She said then paused for a moment to think. "I have a feeling that they have something big planned. Maybe..." She hesitated and looked about as if that would reassure her that it was okay to think of such a thing since the guardians were quite horrible people anyway. "Maybe they want these guardians to get killed..." After she finished speaking, she looked at the ground and kicked a small stone up the path they were walking on.

*The wolf whistled a tune and looked off to the side as the group walked just looking into the distance* "This whole slaying thing seems to be abnormally undisturbed, because after you just assassinate someone very powerful, it's almost expected to have someone to come after you later or at least attempted arrest, bounty hunters, assassins, the other powerful people involved directly. In fact I wouldn't doubt if somehow there's another trap waiting for us. Though I think we can handle just about anything as long as we don't get separated, that would be highly inconvenient for someone like myself... probably a quick death without someone to defend, since defending myself only goes for so long until the majicka runs out."

Talin continued to stay silent, trying to focus his hearing on the areas that his eyes could not see. He avoided reflecting on the lack of noise by constantly doing a pattern of listening left, right, then back and front. But, he could not maintain that for long, as the headache returned at twice the intensity. He staggered to the right, and held his head as his shoulder rammed into a pine tree. At first he was only focusing on the pain, then he had a momentary respite from it as he noticed the horns he had upon leaving the village now felt like nubs sticking out above his ears. "In your knowledge of the incantation, does it say anything about my horns being shoved back into my head?"

Kitt glanced over at Kiana, musing over her last words. Why would anyone want the guardians to be slain like this? Surely it was in their interest to keep the power they had built up?

He sighed and whistled as they passed underneath the small tree, greeted a moment later by Evellyn as she fluttered out of the branches and landed on his arm. The small vole she had caught earlier gone "Good meal?" The falcon simply looked up at him with bright amber eyes and clicked her beak. Kitt shrugged as they continued walking at the same trudging pace "Not much of a talker are you."

The falcon clicked her beak again, this time folding her wing over head. With a small grin Kitt pulled up his hood with the other hand "Easy for you, sleeping all the way while I carry you..."
