While explaining, a cracked, black and clear gem emerged from Talin's back, and stayed only half exposed, glowing brightly, seeing light for the first time in decades. Korius then concentrated the flames to the edge of the gem and finally brought all the flames off the outer 24 candles and into a ball, but instead of dispersing it, Korius elongated it into a Voronese dragon and it flew right into the gem. After he was finished, Korius nearly collapsed, sweating heavily and trying to catch his breath.
