"That's very good of you." Tina stood, seperate from the rest, and her voice was small. She was silent for a while, looking at the walls. The captain prodded the lynx again, he stirred but didn't move.
"Hey, come on, get up we're getting out." The lynx still lay there, unresponsive. Tina looked over to him, her face draining as she predicted disaster.
"Daray, get up, come on baby," she said, going to his side. He murmured incoherently.
"Daz! Get your tail moving, let's go!" The meerkat yelled, and the lynx reached out, grabbed him tight. His eyes opened a crack. He opened his mouth and whispered.
"Don't call me that." Tina smiled, an honest wide smile as she hugged him, then got him to his feet. She grabbed a gun from the floor and thrust it into his hands. He looked at her, confused at the situation. "What are you doing?"
"We're getting out of here, I'm saving your life," she said with a nod and a grin, before looking around the room. "There's no other way out, Kitt, use those grenades to screen our escape." She turned to the scientists, who still had their gasmasks. Walking over to them, she grabbed their masks and pulled them off the quivering pandas. The new masks were given to the captain, the lynx and the few marines who still had none. Looking back at those pandas, her face loosened in relief. "You lot," she said to them. "Take care of her," she said, pointing to Kate. "Make sure she gets taken to the medbay. They nodded, frightened.
Daray, the lynx swayed a little still confused, raising his hand.
"Wait so... you did this all yourself?"
"With a little help," she looked at him, swimming in his presence. "I'd do anything for you," she moved to him, holding his chest, kissing him. When the kiss broke, she practically giggled in spite of the situation, which clung to her thoughts. "Now come on, we're not free yet."
