Forum Rules Updates

Three important things to note:

1. The Forum Rules board has been exchanged for a new tab found at the top of the site. You can find the new "Rules" tab between the "Home" and "Forum" tabs, or click on this link here: Forum Rules page

2. The Forum Rules have been updated. There are a couple big changes, so please take the time to look through them.

3. A "Rule Details" page has also been added with the new Rules tab. This page contains detailed descriptions of what is and isn't allowed on the forums, and explanations for each rule. It is strongly encouraged that you take the time to read these descriptions, especially since the rules have been updated. You can access this page through the "Rule Details" link on the Rules page or by clicking here: Rule Details page



Updates will always be mentioned in this thread, if any changes are made to the rules in the future.

The rules have been slightly adjusted for rewording and specification purposes. This is the edited portion:

• Any material of a sexually explicit nature is not allowed.
  
  Any image or depiction of explicit nudity is not allowed. Very suggestive content is not allowed. Anthropomorphic characters ARE allowed to be unclothed as long as they are covered by fur/scales/feathers/etc. Any clothing should cover about the same amount of area on the body as a bikini/swimsuit would.
  
  
• Any material found to be inappropriate for minors or offensive is not acceptable.
  
  This includes anything inappropriate or offensive that may not be covered under the previous rule above. This may include, but is not limited to, depictions or discussions of obscene violence or hate toward anyone.

The forum rules have been updated once again. There are some important changes this time around. After hearing some concerns of the forum members, we hope these changes will make using the forums a better experience for you all.

Please look over the forum rules and the rule details page to make sure you are familiar with them.


These are the rules in particular that have undergone changes:

• Do not sell yourself or ask for cyber on the forums.
  
  This includes specifically declaring you’re “available” and/or saying you’re here looking for a boyfriend/girlfriend/mate. This is not a dating site. We realize you may meet someone you want to date here, but please take care of these matters in private conversation. Also, no matter how much you may love your boyfriend/girlfriend/mate/etc., please try to keep the public displays of affection to a minimum.
  
  
• If a post is more than 4 weeks old, please contact a moderator before resurrecting it.
  
  Threads that are revived after the four weeks has passed without permission will be locked. If you do gain permission to resurrect an old thread, please say so politely in your post when you resurrect the thread to let the rest of the staff know.
  
  This four-week rule does not apply to stickied threads; stickies can always be posted in no matter how old they are.
  
  There are also some boards that have exceptions to this rule, such as the Artwork and Movies boards – if there is an exception for a board, it will be stated in a stickied thread inside that board.
  
  Any board that has the amount of one page or less of threads, this rule does not apply.
  
  
• Any material found to be inappropriate for minors or offensive is not acceptable.
  
  This includes anything inappropriate or offensive that may not be covered under the previous rule above. This may include, but is not limited to, depictions or discussions of obscene violence or hate toward anyone. Some depictions of blood may be okay - cuts, scrapes, drips, splashes, etc., but very detailed, realistic, or extreme depictions may be disallowed.
  
  
• No extreme uses of profanity - including partially censored.
  
  Any use or variety of the "F" word is not to be used.
  
  Even with swear words that are allowed, please try to keep it to a minimum. Excessive use of foul language may be removed.
  
  Please do not use profanity to curse at or insult your fellow forum members.
  
  

And in addition, the rule against linking to other forums without permission has been eliminated.



In summary:
Threads can now be posted in up to a full four weeks after the last post's date. After that, ask permission first.
Linking to other forums is fine.
Foul language is also now allowed, with the exception of the "F" word and any other extreme cases. Please do not abuse this, or it can easily be disallowed again.

Huh, so all in all, things have been relaxed. Well that's interesting. This certainly was a relatively strict forum, so maybe this is for the better. Wait and see, I guess.

Although nothing's really changed by this, the staff has noticed certain things popping up a lot recently, so that Tweak and I thought it would be best to clarify some things. These two rule descriptions have been edited:

Discussions or images of drug and/or alcohol abuse especially by minors is not appropriate nor tolerated.
  
  

The last sentence of each is what's new. Not that those things were permitted before, but we cannot make it any clearer now. Please make sure you read over the adjustments and take them into consideration when posting.

Please be aware that the following two rules have been added to the list:

• Posts must be a minimum of two words. Do not add word padding/spam to your post just to get around the automatic two-word restriction.
  
  The forum has a built-in word counter to make sure posts contain at least two words. Normally, your post should be fine as long as the automatic restriction accepts your post. However, adding meaningless things like (word word) or *word word* or (spam spam) or (two words) to the end of your post just to trick the filter is not acceptable, and will be counted as a warning.
  

• If you are under a Moderated, Muted, or Banned status, you must obey and respect the rules of that status. Do not try to evade or get around them.
  
  Getting other people to post for you, or evading your status in any other way when your posts are restricted is not allowed. Doing so will count as a warning, and will likely raise your status another level. If you need to say something on the forum, take care of the matter via PMs, or ask an administrator if an exception can be made.

The necroing rule stating that threads cannot be revived after four weeks has been removed.

All threads counting as "dead" are now automatically locked. Different lengths of time have been assigned to each board as to how long it takes for a thread to "die", depending on how active the boards are. Some boards do not have a time limit at all. You can also still ask a staff member to unlock an old thread if there is a need to do so.

So from now on - if a thread is open, you can post in it. Simple enough?

Couldn't be simpler imo, should do basically the same as the old rule did and as well prevent any mistakes

Some of the lengths of time were adjusted to better suit the level of activity in the boards or the type of threads within them. They might still change a bit in the future depending on how things go.
