I probably do have a fly death count in the 1000's  I used to keep ferrets, see - it's my mother's hobby, now - but in this country, you what keep them in the back garden - and in the back garden, what's flies want to get into their food. So you set up these traps, see - it doesn't outbalance the ecosystem none, because otherwise there'd be too many flies from them laying their eggs in the food. Soooo... I'm responsible for a lot of fly deaths  I'm sorry, flies

My kill count is maybe like 3 at best lol. Also, ferrets are one of my favorite animals, lucky! Anyway, don't feel too bad about it. The flies were the ones who fell for those traps, so it's technically their own fault .

They are absolutely gorgeous animals, and I would love to keep them again  but oh, they are such a time-sink! Not a bad one, either - but three hours of playtime a day! It's so much fun! But I don't have the time or the money (or the space!) at the moment. You have to feed them raw meat, which you can either buy pre-mixed, or I have a quali in animal feed & nutrition and worked with some wonderful people on the hollistic ferrets forums to measure out the feed mix that my mother now mixes. Happy as larry, those ferrets  but quite pricey!

OMG, SO MUCH ENERGY! But so, so, so rewarding! Oh, they're gorgeous creatures. Though not always as affectionate as you see in them online videos! My Saskia Kelly who is now my mothers' ferret, she's a rescue, and she used to be a biter (she's so old now that she had to have her front teeth removed.. Which is the only reason she'd stopped, I reckon) and I have got many, many scars - it's like a ferret owner's creed, you will probably get scarred - either by your ferret, or somebody else's

I kinda wish I had a ferret now lol, as much work as it would be. I'm guessing the biting is more of a playful kinda of thing, right?
