Has anyone noticed that the age rating boundaries for films have changed, for instance I recently watched a PG film that had f-bombs everywhere.

Do you mean the F-word?
It depends on the light it is held in standards, if it's seen as something done by a bad side it's considered bad. There's PG3 and PG13 as well as U, 13+ to my knowledge has always accepted swearing as long as its not with threat. PG also means parental guidance so as long as it's beneath extreme ratings and there's parental permission it's legal. However, what I saw was slipping quite beyond the boundaries. I'm not interested in the morality here, but rather the implications of behaviour (safety).

Less profanity in England, fortunately. Though, the most penetrating words here are used for truth in the moments so they have more psychological affect. I'm sure redneck and chav culture, etc are so used to using profanity it makes no real impact. Certainly the footage I've seen in movies and such for certain groups of people seem to use it as a sort of everyday jive to release exaggerated emotion for things.

I do like action filled films but my favourite films take a more psychological approach (eg: Jacobs ladder, 2001: a space odyssey, Donnie Darko, est...)
