No, I mean like, actually replace the character entirely. Long story short, one of the main protagonists of my story is based on an old friend's fursona, same design, same but respelled name, with his traits tweaked for more creative freedom, but he insulted me one too many times and I no longer want to work with him. I need to replace it because it would just be rude to keep someone else's design in my work.

Literally all I will change is the design and name.
