Anything that threatens the furry way, I suppose.

My fun adventure story turned gritty as hell over the years. I actually kinda feel bad about how brutal it is, honestly. It was supposed to have some depressing moments from the beginning, but not to this level. But I still feel that's how it must go.

I was reading the "how to train your dragon" books last week, the intro to book 9 10 and 11 (and presumably 12 when/if I read it) basically says "Yea these cheerful books are getting dark, sorry about that" 

Generally speaking the longer a piece of media lasts, the darker it gets, at least in my experience.
