He's saying some of the older students from the other high school transferred over to his, which allowed them to graduate from his high school before the freshmen who started at it.

Well, we were promised so many things, which is why some of us even went to that high school. It was mostly a bunch of lies. I was ready to transfer to Modesto High, I passed the IB tests and everything, then the school promised all of this shit that never happened. IT STILL HASN'T HAPPENED 6 YEARS LATER AFTER GRADUATION.
