Lane wasn't in the forest long before he heard a noise to his left. As he looked, he noticed that it was a male deer, otherwise known as a Buck. It was breathing heavily and preparing for a charge. Apparently Lane was trespassing or the Buck saw him as a challenger that he could beat down to impress some ladies, but as Lane looked around it became obvious that it was territorial. Lane sighed as he positioned himself correctly, grabbing onto a low branch behind him, he prepared himself to lunge.
The Buck raced forward, antlers out front, ready to stab Lane as it got close. On the last possible second Lane used the branch's leverage to throw himself sideways as the buck ran right into the tree. Unfortunately the Buck's head was harder than it was supposed to be for the plan to work, and it prepared itself for another attack. Lane's eye twitched in annoyance at the creature's determination. This time he faced the Buck as it ran toward him, but this time Lane grabbed the antlers head on, getting a cut on his middle finger. After being pushed back a few feet, Lane dug his claws into the ground, and began pushing back, eventually gaining enough of an advantage to flip the buck on it's side. Afterwards he singed the buck's fur to make it afraid so that it would flee and tell its friends to avoid him. Nature's a (beep)
