Also, it's all true what you say. Hmm... well, building your own can be rather fun. And it all depends on practise. Maybe your first head, partial or full suit won't turn out so well (as in how it looks as well as how 'strong'/durable it is), but that doesn't mean it's impossible. I would say, if/when you can, try it! ^^
But yes, weigh the options out well, and there is always room to improve and update your own creation, if anything ;D
Your welcome. I will take in your consideration as well. I think I might just build my own. It's cheaper and would allow me to do anything I want to it. Soon as I get a job and start making money I'm gonna buy the supplies, look up some tutorials, and then make one myself.

I'm also 15, and my parents also would never let me buy my own suit! I decided to make my own on a whim when i realized how cheap and easy it'd probably be. I've taken my time with it, and it's almost done. This is the first one I've made, and it's not the best, but I really had fun making it and I'm proud : )

I totally forgot about this next picture! (see attachment)

It was taken over a bit more than a year ago. A path in a park we were walking was named: "Wolf Valley", right next to that is a sign, which reads: "No Dogs Allowed".
Due to irony, and me in my wolf suit, we just had to take a shot :P

The whole progress on her billion versions can be seen on my FA, also that version is for sale right now as she did cost me too much due to customs tax that made me pay 300€ for my 3D printed headbase alone. It's PLA printed with 3mm shell thickness, starting from that you can pretty much stand on it without breaking while you have lots of space for electronics inside (I made a video of that).

Her body was made with throwing a duct-tape dummy of my body into a 3D scanner and modeling the shape in 3D, convert it into a sewing pattern and print it. Technology sure is a wonderful thing.

Oh that's so cool! I've never seen a 3D printed head before, so I learned something today  XD
